¨Smoker recipes capture the best in barbecue grilling.¨

Adam sat back on his teak furniture chair, gazing at the stars. His friend, Kelvin, sat next to him.

¨Listen Adam, I don’t understand why you have this elitist mentality. Barbecue smokers are not strictly hobbyist items!¨
¨OK¨ replied Adam. ¨What about the lack of advancing barbeque smoker technology over the years? All you see now are electric smokers, and that’s as advanced as smokers can get.¨

¨What about gas grills?¨ shot back Kelvin.  ¨I love gas grills, I never denied that! Look at those Brinkman and Bradley grilling machines. Did you know that the Bradley comes with its own smoke generator? Flavor briquettes are burned for 20 minutes each and the barbecue sauces taste fabulous!¨

¨What does that do?¨ replied Kelvin. ¨Your grilling recipes won’t be hurt by acids that warp the taste of your bbq food, that’s what it does. Grilling and barbequing has never been better!¨
¨Hey Adam, what's the difference between grilling and barbequing?¨
Adam jumped to his feet. He slapped his knees with his hands in a gesture of bewilderment. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

¨Grilling and barbequing? First of all, grills cook at very high temperatures, exceeded the 300 degree range. The barbecue cooks at around 250 degrees, slightly less. I hate taking my time with barbecue smokers. They aren’t natural grilling machines, just play things.¨
¨You’re dead wrong, Adam. Recipes cooked on barbeque smokers are enveloped with smoke. Did you realize smoke from wood gives it that distinctive smoky flavor? I bet your weber grill can’t do that!¨
¨It may not, but who is the better barbecue grill expert. Me or you?¨
Both burst out laughing. Neither could decide, and it wasn’t really important. Just an animated friendly conversation about grills and recipes in the comforts of Adam’s beautiful outdoor patio.
