BBQ can be summed up in one word: tradition

Dating all the way back to Native American times, the bbq with their wooden racks, served as the lowest end of the chain to today's modern barbeque grills, we're talking about tradition here!

Gas grills are a by-product of earlier times

Yes, barbeques are a by-product of earlier times when colonists dug holes in the ground to burn wood in to heat food. Today, we don't have to rely on makeshift, simple ¨grills¨ such as these to grill our food. Charcoal grills, weber grills, natural gas grills, and ¨regular¨ BBQ grills are all at our disposal. In our present time, barbeque grills are built out of strong material, such as metal and brick, and manufactured in a way to allow smoke and heat to sizzle the food. Despite the messy clean up a charcoal grill requires, knowing that grilling technology will produce nothing but ¨well-dones¨ (or however you may like your food) is pretty satisfying.

Whether you use barbeque grills, Weber grills, or natural gas grills – a barbeque recipe can be put in motion using any grill. Pound that slab of meat into the grill – use existing recipes or create your own! How well you want your meat done is up to you! Grilling in itself is a science – Weber grills and other types of grills are designed to permit flames from touching the food. If this sounds complicated to you, stick with learning new barbeque recipes and leave it to technology.

In essence, from the Native American period to the colonial period, and all the way until today, barbecue grills have played a major role in shaping the way we look at cooking fresh food. Grilling is a favorite hobby of many, and many children look forward to hearing the word ¨barbecue¨ jump out of their parents’ mouths on the weekends. Do yourself a favor and work your natural gas grill (if you own one) this summer. I bet you are craving that delicious, sirloin steak right about now, aren't you?
