BBQ Grill: What classifies as a legitimate bbq grill?

Sure, we have gas grills, natural gas grills using your home’s gas supply, charcoal grills (consumers choice for producing best tasting food), and the basting specialists known as barbeque smokers. Barbequing novice recognizes all of these grills – but there is one special type of barbecue machine that does not get the same praise and recognition as the aforementioned. Let’s introduce the grilling machine that is the closest competitor to charcoal grills in terms of producing fine taste – the pellet grill.

Pellet grill? A barbequing aficionado might go a lifetime without recognizing the importance of this barbequing icon.

For starters, pellet grills use wooden pellets as fuel, similar to regular barbeque smokers like Brinkmann and Bradley. They come in many different types, like oak and hickory – producing a distinctive flavor to every bbq food. Thrown into a firebox, the barbecue’s heat is dependent on the consistency of feeding. Dumping a bunch of wooden pellets into your pellet barbecue grill at once will produce super high temperature, char grilling – and less will heat food over a couple of hours. Pellet grills are versatile and customizable in determining the amount and rate of wooden pellets you want thrown as fuel – giving you total control of grilling BBQ temperatures.

Pellet grills haven’t been at the forefront of barbecue for many reasons. For one, pellet grills are not as available to consumers as more popular grills like conventional gas grills like the Weber grill and charcoal grills. Another reason is the high cost. Typically, pellets are bought in pounds, and the pellet grill itself can be costly as well. Barbequing is a lot more complicated using this grilling machine. So, if you love having control over your barbequing endeavors and cooking excellent grilling recipes: a pellet grill is your best bet.
