Step up your barbecue cooking by adding a smoker to your cooking arsenal.

You’ve seen it before: rich, succulent pork chops ripe with mouth pounding taste. Eyes so attracted to the food they start watering. Using barbeque smokers to pump your food with delicious flavor is a definite plus! Let’s educate ourselves on bbq smokers and smoker grills by becoming acquainted with its special parts.

Smoker grills are usually shaped like cylinders and contain one firebox and a section in which to cook food (called a cooking chamber.) The firebox is where wood is dumped and fuel is added to smoke the food. Depending on the smoker you buy (available choices include Brinkman smokers and Bradley smokers); it can come with either one or two cooking racks. If you want to get all sophisticated like, grills that act as smokers and regular barbecue grills are available! Unlike Weber grills which come with the best, most complex thermometer you could ask for, smoker grills vary in thermometer quality.

Barbecue smokers usually have two kinds of thermometers: quality with multiple gauges and ¨setting¨ thermometers consisting of low, medium, and high.

Don’t undercook your recipes by deciding on low! When purchasing a grill, look for a quality cooking thermometer to heat your food just right. Extra dollars coming out of your pocket will compensate for precise, well-cooked meat.

As stated before, the consensus among barbeque grill enthusiasts is that charcoal grills, not gas grills or natural gas grills, work best for them in cooking those thick slabs of pork. However, smoker grills accentuate and enhance the flavor of your food more efficiently than the average charcoal grill. Become a natural and make yourself familiar with Mr. Brinkman, Mr. Weber, and Mr. Bradley. They may be the only three men in the world happy to be used!
